Birmingham’s Smart City Roadmap

Is data King? This case study uses Birmingham City Council’s recent progress delivering their Smart City Roadmap to consider that question.

Birmingham’s work included the collection process and use of traffic data from a variety of sources to implement traffic management. Key to this scheme was the challenge of connecting together a variety of temporary and permanent Variable Message Signs to help implement traffic management guidance and controls.
